In the Winter of 2019, the park will host three "emerging scholars" - current PhD students studying the Civil War Era - to present their research. On Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2pm, the park will host Lucas Wilder, a PhD student at Mississippi State University who is studying the environmental history of the Civil War in east Tennessee. His lecture is entitled, "Bountiful Land and Poor Distribution: East Tennessee's Agriculture and Its Impact on the Civil War"
This program is free and will take place in the Chickamauga Battlefield.
